Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. It’s a deeply personal, co-created journey shaped by the unique connection between an affirmative therapist and a client. As a relational integrative therapist, I view the collaborative therapeutic relationship as the core of the work we do together.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process, rooted in mutual curiosity, openness, and mindfulness. We explore your experience at a pace that feels right for you, with warmth, compassion, and gentle humour, helping to build a sense of trust and safety.
My affirmative therapy approach draws on a range of therapeutic perspectives, enabling me to remain flexible, adaptive, and responsive to your unique needs in each moment. This flexibility, along with my genuine interest in your story, helps create a supportive space to explore what feels most pressing, uncertain, or in need of care. Together, we can make sense of what brings you to therapy and work toward greater understanding, clarity, and growth.

Identity and Intersectionality – The Foundation of My Work
At the heart of my practice is a deep commitment to exploring issues of identity, difference, and inclusion. My own lived experience as a queer, neurodivergent person (autistic with ADHD, inattentive type) shapes how I approach these themes in therapy. This perspective helps me connect with clients who may feel their identities are overlooked or marginalised. I strive to create a safe, affirming space where you can bring your full self without judgement and explore your experiences openly.
My core training in the Relational Integrative Model (RIM) equips me with a deep curiosity about how power dynamics, authenticity, and intersectionality shape the therapeutic relationship. Collaborative therapy is co-constructed, and this framework allows me to remain attuned to both visible and invisible aspects of identity as they impact the therapeutic process. My approach is anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and rooted in intersectional practices that recognise the complexities of privilege and marginalisation.
I complement my training with ongoing learning in feminist theory, queer thought, and neurodiversity. These insights help me expand my understanding of how societal structures of power influence our personal identities. My ‘coming out’ as neurodivergent and queer has been an essential part of my personal and professional growth, informing how I engage with clients and helping me maintain a mindful and reflective approach in the therapy room.
A Collaborative and Affirmative Space for All
My practice is inclusive and affirmative, welcoming clients from all walks of life. I work with people who identify as LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, from global majority heritage, as well as those with disabilities or those affected by systemic oppression.
I firmly believe that affirmative therapy should be a space where you can feel seen and heard, no matter your background or identity.
I strive to centre your voice and perspective in our work, making sure you feel empowered and respected. This includes being transparent about my own identity as a white, cisgendered, able-bodied male, acknowledging how my privileges may shape the therapeutic process. Understanding my own experiences of being ‘othered’, through my neurodivergence and queerness has shaped how I remain attuned to clients who have experienced marginalisation or exclusion.
Creating a balanced power dynamic in collaborative therapy is crucial. I regularly engage in reflective practice, checking in with clients about how power and difference are playing out in the room. This ensures that the therapeutic space remains open, safe, and adaptable to your needs. I also incorporate regular reflective reviews during our sessions, where we explore together how power dynamics may shift and evolve throughout the process.
Global Awareness and Cultural Sensitivity
Having lived in diverse cultural settings like Vancouver, Jerusalem, and Paris, I bring a broad understanding of how culture shapes our identities and experiences. These experiences have enriched my understanding of power, privilege, and difference in ways that are often not captured in traditional therapy models.
As an affirmative therapist, I connect deeply with clients from global majority backgrounds, sharing a lived experience of being a minority in different cultural contexts. This allows me to offer a more nuanced understanding of how cultural, racial, and systemic factors impact one’s sense of self and their interactions with the world.
Although I recognise my privileges, my diverse experiences provide me with a unique ability to relate to clients from many different backgrounds, facilitating a deeper connection and understanding. My affirmative therapy practice is one that honours and affirms the diversity of lived experience, making space for each client to feel valued and heard.
Ethics and Self-Reflection – The Heart of My Practice
As an affirmative therapist, I am committed to upholding the ethical principles set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), including justice, autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and self-respect. These principles of collaborative therapeutic relationships guide my work with clients and are central to creating a therapeutic space where fairness, equity, and respect are foundational.
Through regular self-reflection, supervision, and CPD, I ensure that my practice remains ethically sound. I am vigilant about unconscious bias and how institutional norms may influence my work. The ongoing process of self-awareness and critical reflection ensures that I continue to grow and evolve as a therapist, always mindful of how I can best serve my clients.
